Coauthoring a WordPress Plugin Development Book

I’m very excited to announce that I’m coauthoring the 2nd edition of Professional WordPress Plugin Development, one of the highest rated WordPress development books ever released!

Justin Tadlock and Brad Williams are returning as co-authors, and Greg Rickaby (the Director of Engineering at WebDevStudios) is our Technical Editor.

The 1st Edition was released 9-years ago, and so much has changed since then… like, just about everything. That book earned a reputation for being the best way to learn how to build professional WordPress plugins “the correct way” so when Brad & Justin asked me to join them, how could I say no?

Every single chapter has since been meticulously updated with the latest tips and techniques, and we created entirely new chapters to cover the latest WordPress features, including the REST API and Gutenberg.

Professional WordPress Plugin Development 2nd Edition is for anyone wanting to learn how to create powerful plugins for WordPress. It includes some seriously deep dives into many of the most popular APIs, complete with recommendations on how to interact with them.

It has been a few years in the making, and I’m really excited to help Brad & Justin out with this awesome 2nd edition. You can track our progress on Twitter using the hashtag #PluginDevBook and you can pre-order on Amazon today!
